Mini, Pocket or Big Picket Fans: Which Should You Choose?
Loving K-pop often means finding little ways to bring your bias into everyday life. There are photos in your binder, favorite merch on your bag, and something personal to take along when you meet fan friends.
A custom fan can be one of those pieces. You may know it as a picket fan, an image picket or a photo fan. Choose an idol photo, add your own colors, name or memory, and it becomes fan-made merch with a point of view that belongs to you.
Size changes how you enjoy it. A Mini fan can make a friend laugh, a Pocket fan can come along on an ordinary outing, and a Big fan gives a special memory room for a fuller design. Before choosing at Picsqueen, think about how you want this fan to stay with you.
1. Start with the use, then compare the actual size
Start with Mini Fan for a playful gift or small charm, Pocket Fan when you want easy carrying and actual cooling, and Big Fan when you want a fuller design for a special occasion or home display.
The product guides distinguish the finished fan face from the overall dimensions including the handle. The face affects your photo layout; the overall size helps you check a pocket or bag. These measurements are not the upload-canvas dimensions.

2. Mini fans turn favorite expressions into little collectibles
Mini Fan's charm is the familiar fan format made tiny. It is mainly a collectible, photo prop and playful little interaction, rather than a fan for everyday cooling. A very serious fanning gesture with something so small can be funny. Hold your bias beside your cheek and try a photo that looks as if they are whispering in your ear.

Keep one favorite expression or connect member photos through a common palette.
It can be a concert freebie or something to exchange at a FESTA-themed gathering, anniversary meetup, birthday celebration, screening or an ordinary afternoon with fan friends. A recognizable expression or shared fandom moment gives you something to talk about. At a screening, exchange and photograph the fans before or after the film.

Connect photocards, stickers and Mini fans through a photo or shared theme.
With suitable connecting accessories, a Mini fan can become a small charm to carry. Collect several expressions of your bias, or choose member photos for a group set. A common background and palette can connect them while each face keeps its character.
Make the face and expression the focus. A smaller print area generally needs fewer effective source pixels than a large fan, but it cannot make a blurry photo clear. A recognizable portrait, simple background and short text work well. Chains and packaging are styling ideas; check the selected product page for what your order includes.
3. Pocket fans bring your bias along and help you cool down
Pocket Fan suits fans who want to take their bias out without needing much storage space. Its overall size is 100 × 145 mm. Check that measurement against your pocket or small bag, including the handle. At a concert or fan meetup, it can be a photo prop and a fan you actually use when you feel warm.
As a gift for a fan friend, it offers something they can keep using. Choose a favorite selfie, a smile toward the camera or a moment from an event you want to remember. It can come on everyday outings, giving the photo another place to be seen.
You can plan different content for the two sides: a photo on the front, and a date, city, short memory or message on the back. The product guidance asks you to specify the corresponding front and back images; without instructions, the same image is used on both sides. Organize and label the pairs before uploading.

A photo to carry, a story on the back and a fan for warm moments.
A picture that looks clear on your phone is a useful starting point. Then open the original and inspect the face, hair and text after cropping and enlargement. Use the original where possible and avoid repeated screenshots or compressed reposts.
4. Big fans give special memories room for a fuller design
Some moments deserve a piece of merch you take time to design: seeing your idol for the first time, a rare event, an anniversary or a stage outfit you still think about. Big Fan gives that idea a larger place to develop.
Use the space for a portrait, name, background, date and details. The two sides can have their own themes: a favorite photo on one, and the event or your story on the other. Hold it for a photo at an occasion that suits a display, then keep it at home with photocards, tickets or other memories.

Give a special photo, date and story more space, then keep the fan in your home display.
A Big fan needs more room to carry and store. For a crowded concert and a small bag, it can be harder to protect from knocks or bending. A Pocket fan is usually easier to arrange for light packing; keep a larger design for suitable events and home displays. Follow the venue's own entry and use rules.
A larger print area also needs a clearer source. If you crop one member out of a group photo, inspect the part you keep, not just the original file's total pixel count. A stage background may be part of the memory, too. You can keep it instead of enlarging a tiny face to fill the whole fan.
5. Shape and transparency change the design, too
After choosing the use, look at the outline and material. A round fan can center an expression; a heart outline can make affection part of the shape. A heart graphic inside a circular face is a different design choice from a fan physically cut into a heart. The red Mini example uses a heart composition inside a round outline.

A heart composition inside a round fan differs from a physically heart-shaped outline.
Heart Sovereign Fan offers the larger heart format. Its guide lists a finished face of 281 × 255 mm and an overall size of 255 × 391 mm with the handle. Use it for a fuller design with a heart outline. Keep faces, names and meaningful gestures clear of the top notch and bottom point.
Heart-shaped Transparent Fan is a separate PVC product. Its guide lists a finished face of 141.47 × 158 mm and an overall size of 141.47 × 253 mm. The description distinguishes a glossy front from a matte printed back. Clear areas can become part of the composition around a portrait or small decorations. Its guide recommends PNG files; check this product's own instructions for the two-sided appearance and customization method.

Use each heart product’s own size and design guide; the product pictures are not to a shared scale.
Both have heart names, but their sizes, materials and design guides differ. Use the guide for the product you actually select, rather than another fan's upload canvas. Product pictures displayed at similar sizes on a screen do not mean the physical fans are the same size.
6. Plan the photo around the format and your collection
Different sizes can preserve different parts of what you love. Mini fans collect expressions, Pocket fans keep an everyday photo and a little story close, and Big fans give a special experience more space. You can use one photo across formats, but adjust the crop separately for each.
Start with the face on a Mini fan, balance a photo with short content on a Pocket fan, and arrange the portrait, background and details around a theme on a Big fan. For a group collection, shared backgrounds, frames or colors can connect different members without matching every pose.
Use the selected product's upload canvas and follow its file-format, RGB and resolution guidance. Changing a DPI number or enlarging a file cannot restore missing source detail. Follow the transparent product's own PNG and clear-area requirements. Check the safe area so faces, gestures, names and memory notes stay in the intended positions.

Check the original, crop, selected canvas, safe area and files for both sides.
For gifts to fan friends, consider quantities, packaging and companion items together. A Mini fan with a related photocard or portrait sticker can give you something to exchange and discuss. For your own collection, put the time and budget into the expressions, stories and designs you want to keep.

7. Connect your fan with your next custom merch idea
Once you choose the fan, follow the part of the project you want to make next. Our four ways to put together K-pop freebies explain how a favorite photo or shared theme can connect photocards, stickers and fans. The same planning ideas can help with a FESTA meetup, screening exchange or birthday gathering.
If you're unsure whether a photo will stay clear on a larger fan, read our photo clarity and cropping guide. It uses photocards as examples, but checking the original, the pixels retained after cropping and the exported file can also help you prepare a fan design.
For a memory you want to bring home, explore our concert keepsake ideas. A fan can stay with tickets, photos and photocards. A date or a line only you and your friend understand can preserve more of the story.
If you'd like a matching photocard set, our mobile photocard customization tutorial walks through uploading photos, editing both sides, reviewing the cart and ordering. It demonstrates the photocard workflow; use the relevant fan's own product options and design guidance when ordering a fan.
Start with the photo that makes you smile. Picture it coming out with you, going to a fan friend or finding a place in your collection. Choose the use, then arrange the size, shape and content for the sides. It can become your own way to keep and share your love for your bias.
